The first thing I noticed was the annoying...to me...music. It is mostly some sort of bump and grind techno poop. That was a turnoff for me. Then I started seeing all the coolest rockcrawling stuff ever! It was about 75 percent the UROC competition but was nicely interspersed with what looked to be the local gang doing what local gangs do. Wheeling! But on very cool rock.

During the course of this show I saw almost every type of vehicle that makes up this board. From jeeps (commandos, cj's, yj's...xj's and even tj's) to toyotas, to some badass bronocos, hummers, and yes...even one damn near verticle climbing zuk! Plus many more.

My only exposure to this type of event in the past was strictly the one minute segments on the discovery channel, etc. That never did it justice. This was truly awesome! These guys are literally insane. I have never seen such off camber situations, vertical climbing, rollovers, and awesome display of horsepower in my life. The only thing I can't understand is why there wasn't more breakage. These guys were hopping and bouncing with major wheel spin like you wouldn't believe. How the heck do they stay within those orange cones? And where do they get there spotters? They are just as insane as the drivers..if not more.

Horsepower.....jeebus you haven't seen horsepower until you've seen full grown monster trucks hammering up over the rock gardens! I'm talking 1500 horsepower in dvd sound. Rumble. For the record, this part was not very impressive to me with the exception of the sound. It was neat and all but something about it just seemed rather silly.

So the highlights for me were, the spotters and their straps, the bouncing of the competitors, the awesome sound of horsepower, the rolls, the steeps, and the sound of rubber trying to catch.

Bonus footage

There is plenty of bonus footage and that is actually just as cool if not cooler than the rest. These were the local guys breaking shtuff. Some really nice stills. And even more backstage footage.

btw- Yo HAVE to see "sweet spot' and "the out-takes".

There is even an easter egg hiddin in the bonus stuff.

Quote of the show....

"bondo is your friend.... "

If you would like to get this movie...again, you can get it at WalMart or go to http://www.hammerdown4x4.com/
